We've now had our next gen consoles out in the wild for like 3 months. We've had little to no digital releases to fill these current droughts. PS4 to a lesser extent as at least there has been a single monthly PSN title on plus. Was it like this for PS3 and Xbox? (I only owned a Wii at the start of last gen and they were pretty good then with Virtual Console releases)

Digital titles were only really starting when the PS3 and 360 came out so its hard to compare there.
A load have been announced so i guess the simple answer is that they just arent ready yet. Just because they are download only doesnt really change much. The only difference is that with the new systems they arent really bound to release dates which I know was one of the things Sony was advertising in their Indy initiative.

Yeah I do guess both with Sony's indie push and Microsoft's ID@Xbox thing we will see indie published games just shoot up. Still feel like there was more digital stuff early on last time round? Lemmings, Geometry Wars etc?

I guess thats because Microsoft was launching the Xbox Live Arcade so they had games ready to show.
