The 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog was a particular low though. Not thought much of the 3d sonics on Wii though. Yet to play Sonic- Lost world.

I just thought of something. Nintendo moves into the PC hardware market. So rather than making a Wii, they could make the sensor bar and the wiimote that are compatible with PCs. And then they make Nintendo games for the PC.
That doesn't necessarily stop them from making a console, as not everyone will have a gaming PC. But it expands their audience massively.
Thoughts?

I think I said in the thread on N-E (or at least thought it), that Nintendo could easily go third party and just release the required peripherals for the other consoles to go along with their games. Yes it would mean pushing the cost of a game up to like £70 maybe but Nintendo games are far and few between enough and of good enough quality that this price would be justified. Not to mention the original peripheral-pushing game would be created specifically with said peripheral in mind so it would not be lazy or gimmicky.
I mention this because Nintendo obviously like to innovate but sometimes I think they do it for the sake of it. The gamepad feels that way. They've upped the price of the console greatly to include this piece of hardware that is barely used. You can't argue that using it as a menu screen, back pack or map is justified. How many games actually use the off-screen play feature either?
I think there's a game in Nintendoland where you can fling ninja stars with the gamepad.. why aren't more games using gameplay elements such as this? Why aren't we using the gamepad to look around our own rooms to see hidden things in the game world like in ZombiU? It's way too underused... I think I've gone off-topic.

With Japan already shunning PC gaming I could never see this happening, either on Nintendo's side to do it to begin with, or Japanese consumers buying it if they did.

I always thought even if they went to other consoles this doesn't mean they can't continue to innovate on hardware by bundling it with games.

Oh you wrote what I said but way more intelligently and before me!
