Microsoft announce a patch is set to hit Xbox One next week and correct a few mistakes of the current of OS' set up: It seems absurd to me that something like this is being celebrated? Are we in position come 11th Feb where everyone should be tweeting so Microsoft realises they need to act on all the suggestions people are making? It does represent the absurd situation we are in with both consoles not having most of the functionality of their predecessors? Like gimme god damn USB storage support for movie playback!!!!

Yeah, it is just an odd thing that these new consoles are missing stuff from previous versions and they make out like it's big news.
I'm I right in thinking the PS4 still doesn't let you play 3D blu rays? I mean what's that all about?!!

At the moment you cant pause downloads. The only way I have found to do it is to disconnect the PS4 from the Internet and then resume your downloads one at a time so you dont have to have all going at once.

Fail.
It is like both companies rushed out the consoles to come out before xmas when neither seemed really ready!

Im not sure that the PS4 pause thing is actually to do with rushing but more to do with design choice. Its seemed to me that both companies this time around have been ignoring limitations on bandwidth and areas with low speeds and just designing the consoles like the fastest areas are the norm so for them you would never need to pause as updating or downloading should just be something happening quickly in the background.

YES. Also despite Microsoft abandoning always online the console is effectively useless without online and can even more a chore when the internet is being slightly troublesome.
